I think about how certain moments in life hit you with intensity and then pass, and how you spend time afterwards trying to hold onto them. That feeling is in here somewhere. It's not a painting that shouts, but it stays with you. This piece started as a remake of an old favorite and ended up very different, with a blue background inspired by the ocean's energy. But the colors didn't sit right, so I stepped away. When I came back, I leaned into vibrancy I love, like a maze of colors that shifts and surprises. It came together quickly after that, and was a joy to paint.
